Refund & Cancellation Policy — Principium
Document kind: refunds Document version: 2026-08-16.1 Effective date: 16 August 2026 Governing law: England and Wales
1. Statutory 14-Day Right to Cancel (Cooling-Off Period)
1.1 Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 (CCRs), consumers purchasing digital content online normally have 14 days from the day after contract formation to cancel and receive a full refund without giving any reason. 1.2 Digital Content Supply Waiver: Principium is digital content supplied otherwise than on a tangible medium. Under regulations 28(1)(b) and 37(1) of the CCRs 2013, if you choose to download the software or pair a device immediately during the 14-day cooling-off period, you will be required to give two separate, explicit affirmations:
- Express request for supply to begin immediately during the cancellation period; and
- Acknowledgment that once access begins, your statutory 14-day cancellation right is lost.
1.3 If you prefer to keep your 14-day cancellation right, you may decline the waiver. Your purchase remains secure, your access time does not run down, and download/pairing access will unlock automatically when the 14 days elapse.
2. Self-Service Subscription Cancellation
2.1 You may cancel a recurring subscription at any time directly through your account portal (Subscription page). 2.2 Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period. You will retain access until the end of that period, and no further renewal charges will be made. 2.3 No telephone calls, emails, or retention steps are required to cancel.
3. Statutory Quality Rights (Consumer Rights Act 2015)
3.1 Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (CRA), digital content must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described. 3.2 If the software is faulty and cannot be repaired or replaced within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience, you are entitled to a price reduction up to the full amount paid. 3.3 Third-party game updates: Principium operates by observing the game screen. Changes made by third-party game platform operators may temporarily interrupt functionality. We release prompt software updates, and temporary interruptions addressed within a reasonable time do not constitute a defect under CRA 2015.
4. Refund Methods and Exclusions
4.1 Approved refunds are processed by our seller of record to your original payment method within 14 days at no fee. 4.2 Refunds are not granted where:
- The 14-day cooling-off period was validly waived and the software operated as described;
- Game account sanctions were imposed by the third-party game platform operator (as disclosed in Terms of Service clause 7.3);
- An account was terminated for fraudulent chargebacks or resale of access.
